I have been directly responsible for the sale and purchase of over 600 yachts ranging from family cruisers to 40 metre plus superyachts and involving more than 20 nationalities of buyer and seller.
My career has also been rich and varied, starting as a graduate trainee with Unilever, progressing to senior management positions in another major multi-national before establishing successful businesses in publishing and advertising.
The experiences gained living in Arabia, Spain, France, Greece, Russia, the Indian Ocean and the Far East have often helped me work with a client base which is truly global.
Throughout my working life I have owned yachts and in 2001 this led to the purchase of a yacht brokerage business in Cornwall. Since then, my passion and business has been yacht broking. Another six years were spent in Palma and a further ten in London before identifying Andorra as the best hub for the future of Abery Yachts.
This huge depth of transactional and cultural experience often makes the difference between a sale completing or not. It is surprising how many yacht transactions could be lost to last-minute issues with paperwork.
Owning my own boats from sailing dinghies through RIBS to offshore cruising yachts has given me insight into the joys and pains of ownership!
